Batman Live
Batman is a name all comic book lovers known and was bought to life in the DC Comics by the artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger. The first appearance of this crime fighting superhero came in May 1939. The year 2011 saw Batman Live hit the stage with a reported five year long World Arena Tour. Starting in the UK, Batman Live is an original story created exclusively for the stage. The two main characters, Batman and Robin face other their nemesis The Joker in Gotham City and also battle against other super villains and arch enemies throughout the production.
Summer 2011 saw the launch of Batman Live in the UK with an 11 week tour designed to suit a family audience and news first broke officially of the impending World Arena Tour for Batman Live in November 2010. Within 24 hours of the official announcement Facebook saw an impressive 7,000 fans for official Batman Live ? World Arena Tour page. By April 2011 this figure had risen to an impressive 15,000 fans.
The first performance of Batman Live took place at the Manchester Evening News Arena on 19th July 2011 and saw 10 different venues announced in the UK as per below:

Batman Live - Facts
- The stage show is designed for arenas that seat between 4,000 and 10,000 people
- The trapeze artists that appear in the show have to train for 45 minutes a day for a three month period.
- The first recording of the soundtrack for Batman Live was made in Abbey Road Studios in September 2010
- 17 trucks are required to move the set from venue to venue
- Auditions for Batman Live took place in January 2011 and attracted over 2,000 people
